Model Y - Protective film (PPF) for the rear doors.
This film set protects the vulnerable corner of the rear doors against stone chips.
This pre-cut film is from the XPEL brand; the market leader in paint protection.
The set consists of 2 pieces of custom-cut film for both rear doors. If you order the set to install yourself, you will receive a bottle of special application gel (dilute with water) and a squeegee to rub the film on.
See below for instructions. Of course, you can also have the film installed by our specialist.
To apply the film, you must first clean the car thoroughly. Any stone chips can best be touched up first with our paint pens. Of course, this will no longer work once the film has been applied.
- The bottle is already filled with a slip solution to apply the film wet. This must be filled with water. Fill the bottle halfway, so you have the right ratio
- Spray the liquid on the spot where the film is to be applied and also on your hands (With wet hands you have less chance of fingerprints if you touch the foil on the back.
- Remove the fim from the backing and apply the slip solution to the back of the film as well.
- Apply the film to the wet protier, but do not press it.
- Align it with the bottom and back. It is best to ensure that the film remains a few millimeters inside the edge of the door.
- When the foil is in place, use the squeegee to rub away the liquid and air bubbles from the center.
- Let the film dry and do not use a high-pressure cleaner or car wash for the first while.
